Please note before starting this online application that to be eligible to apply, you must:

• Be a citizen of Ireland
and
• Be 18 years of age or older
and
• Hold a degree from a designated institution

To process your application, we need to gather some personal information about you in relation to your citizenship, identity, and qualifications.

Citizenship and Identity

To complete this application, you must provide:

• A copy of the photo page of your valid Irish passport or Certificate of Naturalisation to verify your citizenship
• a Personal Public Service Number (PPSN)

If you do not, or cannot, provide a PPSN, you will need to complete the Seanad Éireann Electoral Registration Witness Form, available here. Once completed and signed by the relevant authority, you will need to upload a copy of this form with your application.

Degree from a Designated Institution

Your degree must be a bachelor's degree, a master's degree, or a doctoral degree from a designated institution. We will ask you for the institution you graduated from, the verifying body that now holds your records, the year you graduated, and the title of your degree.
